With single day spike of 1602 cases in the state, positive cases in Odisha has risen to 33,479. Out of 30 districts, cases were reported from 29 districts, 993 are from quarantine centres while 609 are local contact cases.
Ganjam registered the highest number of cases with 308 cases, followed by Khurda (285), Rayagada (164), Gajapati (108), Sundargarh (62), Cuttack (54), Puri (50), Dhenkanal (49), Koraput (46), Kandhamal (45), Jajpur (44), 39 each from Sambalpur and Mayurbhanj, Balangir (38), Nayagarh (33), Keonjhar (31), 30 each from Kalahandi and Malkangiri, Balasore (29), Bhadrak (20), Jagatsinghpur (19), 15 each from Angul and Kendrapada, Bargarh (13), 9 each from Nabarangpur and Boudh, Jharsuguda (7), Sonepur (6) and Nuapada (5).
The death toll in Odisha jumped to 187 after 10 more positive patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours.Five COVID-19 positive patients died in Ganjam district while three deaths ( including two in Bhubaneswar) were reported from Khurda district. Gajapati and Sundergarh districts registered one death each.
