Today marks the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and it is indeed heartening that he chose to celebrate this occasion in Bhubaneswar.
Narendra Damodardas Modi was born in Mehsana, Gujarat on September 17, 1950. He currently serves as the Prime Minister, having assumed this role for the third time, and previously held the position of Chief Minister of Gujarat for three consecutive terms from 2001 to 2014.
Modi is recognized as the longest-serving non-Congress Prime Minister in Indian history and has presided over an elected government for an extensive duration, including over 12 years as Chief Minister of Gujarat. Various surveys indicate that Modi enjoys the highest approval ratings among elected leaders globally. According to the ‘Global Leader Approval Rating Tracker’ from a US-based consultancy, 76 percent of respondents support Modi’s leadership, while 18 percent oppose it and 6 percent remain neutral.
The celebration of PM’s birthday coincides with the BJP’s annual “Seva Parv,” a two-week event that acknowledges his commitment to public welfare. This year, “Seva Parv” will remain the focal point of the BJP’s festivities, with particular emphasis on two significant initiatives. Nationwide cleanliness drives and blood donation camps will be organized as part of this campaign. Party workers and volunteers will conduct cleanliness programs in hospitals, schools, and various public venues.
Additionally, the renowned Ajmer Sharif Dargah in Rajasthan plans to distribute 4,000 kilograms of vegetarian langar. In Surat, Gujarat, several businesses have announced discounts on their products, ranging from 10% to 100%. These discounts and subsidies will be applicable across various sectors, including hospitality, retail, and transportation services.
