During the coronavirus lockdown, digital news platform OdishaLIVE and popular health and wellness portal Swasthya Plus have come together with a new media campaign ‘Kete Nua Bata.’ Supported by UNICEF Odisha, a radio series is being aired as part of the media campaign. It will be broadcast every Sunday at 10.30 am from all the centers of ‘Akashvani’ in Odisha. A total of 13 episodes will be aired under the program until August 23.

In a critical time like the Covid-19 pandemic, the radio series is based on new information, courage, and some positive messages. This includes new aspects and facts about the COVID situation, interviews with key figures in the Covid fight, the story of the Covid heroes, health tips and more.

The radio series will also be broadcast digitally. It will reach viewers and audiences in India and abroad through social media platforms such as Facebook, Helo and YouTube along with OdishaLIVE and Swasthya Plus portals.

The 13 episodes of “Kete Nua Bata” cover a number of important issues. These include social issues such as children’s well-being, education, health, youth and battling discrimination during lockdowns. Experts say that efforts are being made to raise awareness about the issue.

In the first chapter of “Kete Nua Bata”, Subroto Bagchi, Chief Spokesperson of the State Government, informed about the government’s priorities in the current situation. Dr. Ashok Kumar Mohapatra, Chancellor of the Siksha o Anusandhan University advises on how to protect oneself from coronavirus infection at present.

‘Kete Nua Bata’ program will air from major stations like Akashvani Cuttack, Sambalpur and Jaipur as well as other centers in different parts of the state every Sunday at 10.30 am. Nilambar Rath, Editor-in-Chief of Odishalive, is the producer and director of the programme. Similarly, Nalinikanta Biswal and Sujata Patnaik are compeering the program.

Apart from the radio programme, UNICEF’s animation and audio series are being aired under the ‘Kete Nua Bata’ campaign. In addition, there is a public awareness campaign on social media. It also discusses various issues, as well as interviews with celebrities.
