Domestic & Foreign Tour Operators discuss to business with Local Players at Odisha Travel Bazaar, OTB 2022

The 3-day Odisha Travel Bazaar 2022 organized by the Dept of Tourism, Govt. of Odisha and FICCI concluded with domestic and foreign tour operators having visited places like Bhubaneswar, Konark, Puri, Chilika, Dhauli, Bhitarkanika and Lalitgiri as part of FAM trips. B2G meeting with investors and Airlines were held by the Govt officials. Local players acting as sellers exhibited various tourism products during the 3 day event.

Several tour operators from the country and abroad showed interest to engage in business with local players in tourism, travel and hospitality sector. A record 3,377 numbers of buyer-seller meetings took place during Odisha Travel Bazar 2022 held at Bhubaneswar, as per an official release by the department. Meetings continued day long as tour operators discussed many aspects of a possible alliance.

About 22 Foreign Tour Operators from countries like Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, Tanzania, Thailand, Vietnam and 83 buyers from cities like Aurangabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chandrapur, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Mangalgiri, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nasik, New Delhi and NCR, Panjim, Pune, Raipur, Rohtak, Siliguri, Surendra Nagar, Trivendrum, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam participated in the event.

The State’s flagship event Odisha Travel Bazaar was organized after a 2 year Covid gap. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had virtually addressed the inaugural session of the event and informed that the state government has identified 17 places offering beaches, biodiversity zones, heritage monuments and areas of religious and cultural importance for integrated master-planning-based development. With products centered on key tourism offerings to match global standards, the state will be able to attract not just the finest brands in travel and hospitality but also tourists looking for a new experience, the CM had said.

On the sidelines of Odisha Travel Bazaar, investors from leading national & international hospitality and wellness groups held discussion with Principal Secy Tourism Surendra Kumar on possible investment opportunities in Odisha.

Other dignitaries present at the 3 day event included Sachin R Jadhav, Director-Tourism, Govt. of Odisha, Manab Majumdar, Deputy Secretary General FICCI, J K Mohanty, Co-chair, FICCI Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Committee & CMD Swosti Group , Ansuman Rath, OSD Tourism Department and others.
