Odisha registered 1,341 new cases of COVID-19 pushing the tally to 48,796. The state also conducted the highest 23,035 sample tests taking the cumulative test count to 6,92,301.

Out the new cases, 818 were detected from quarantine centres, while 523 were local contacts. Ganjam reported the highest 227 cases followed by Khordha (218), Sundargarh (91), Bhadrak (83), Cuttack (76) and Rayagarh (75). The total recoveries stand at 33020, while active case count is 15,427.
Talking about the number of fatalities, ten more people succumbed to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 296, informed the State Health and Family Welfare Department on Tuesday. While Ganjam and Khordha districts reported three deaths each, one death each was reported from Sundergarh, Puri, Balasore and Rayagada districts.
