CM Naveen Patnaik on Friday launched ‘Odisha Agni-Shama Seva’ online portal. The portal will provide assistance in issuing fire safety certificates to different categories of buildings through online mode. As many as eight services online will be provided through the portal. Patnaik has directed Fire Services department to add other services before October 2, 2020.

“Fire safety certificates for different category of buildings will now be available online through the portal. This will enhance efficiency, improve transparency and help provide timely services without actual human interface,” said Patnaik. He further said it is the priority area of Odisha government under its 5T initiative to bring transformation in governance through parameters of technology, team work, transparency and time.

“With launching of the portal, eight services can be availed by citizens on online mode to obtain fire safety certificates for high rise buildings, multiplexes, shopping malls and clinical establishments. The remaining services mandated should also be integrated in the portal and made available before October 2, 2020,” said Patnaik.

Patnaik appreciated Odisha Fire Services personnel for the massive restoration work taken up by them in West Bengal during super cyclone Amphan in May 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
