The Sikhya O Anusandhan (SOA) University in Bhubaneswar has stepped into its 14th year of existence today. A press released by the university said that it has earned a unique reputation in India for its quality education, attracting students across the nation as well as abroad to nurture their future here.

It was Prof. Manoranjan Nayak’s efforts that SOA was recognized as a university on July 19, 2008 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development under the UGC Act, Section 3, 1954 of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Department. Since then, SOA has continued to grow manifolds.

For the last 13 years, the deemed University has been continuously ranked among the top 25 universities in the country in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRFF) rankings run by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development for the past five years. Similarly, at the international level, SOA has established its position, grabbing a place in the Times Higher Education World University rankings.

Similarly, the SOA Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital ranked 23rd in the country in the NIRFF rankings this year. The IMS has also made it to the top six medical colleges in the world in the Times Higher Education World Rankings.

In the field of social work, SOA has undertaken a number of exemplary actions. SOA’s social organization, Jaggo, has taken a number of steps to care for and educate children in the slums. Food, masks and sanitizers have been provided daily to 20,000 poor homeless people in and around Bhubaneswar.
