Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Monday launched the Bureau of Indian Standard’s Mobile App BIS-Care. Along with this, three portals on Standardization, Conformity Assessment and Training of e-BIS were also launched.


The newly launched mobile app BIS-Care can be easily operated on any Android phone. The app allows consumers to check the authenticity of the ISI-marked and hallmarked products. Complaints can also be lodged using the app.

on the occasion, Mr. Paswan said, “Certification and surveillance are important aspects of BIS functioning. BIS is strengthening its capacity of enforcement by implementation of e-BIS.” Paswan also highlighted the importance of ensuring quality products to consumers. He also urged everyone to join the initiative.

It was also informed that the government is working on implementing One Nation, One Standard scheme in the country to curb instances of sub-standard products being sold to consumers.
