Odisha reported a record high numbers in the corona positives today with 1594 fresh cases in the last 24 hours. The total count in the state now stands at 22693. This is the third consecutive day that Odisha reported 1000-plus COVID-19 cases.
Out of the total detected, 1067 were from quarantine centres while 527 are local contacts. Ganjam recorded 732 new cases followed by Khurda and Cuttack districts with 320 cases and 136 cases, respectively. Bhadrak witnessed 60 new cases, Boudh (41) while 33 cases were detected from Koraput.
Six persons succumbed in 24 hours. The death toll now in the state is 120. Among the dead are a 44-year-old male of Ganjam district (suffering from diabetes), a 71-year-old male of Rayagada district (suffering from diabetes, Hypertension and Chronic Kidney disease), a 53-year-old male of Gajapati district, a 59-year-old female of Ganjam district, a 50-year-old female of Ganjam district and a 60-year-old male of Bhadrak district (suffering from Diabetes and Hypertension).
Two more Covid positive patients in State died due to other health complications. 14,393 patients have recovered and active case count stands at 8148.
