28 districts of the state reported 1068 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. Of these, 662 are from quarantine centres and 40 are local cases. As a result, the total number of affected in the state has increased to 29,175.

Ganjam recorded the highest number of 245 cases. 194 from Khodha, 112 from Sundergarh, 88 from Gajapati, 77 from Keonjhar, 66 from Koraput, 61 from Cuttack, 29 each from Nayagarh and Baleshwar, 26 from Balangir, 24 from Rayagada, 21 from Sambalpur, 26 from Nabarangpur, 20 each from Angul and Mayurbhanj were reported. Similarly, 19 cases were reported from Kalahandi, 16 from Puri, 12 each from Jharsuguda and Jajpur, 11 from Nuapada and Kandhamal, 8 from Kendrapada, 5 from Bargarh, 4 from Bhadrak, 2 each from Subarnapur and Deogarh.

The state has so far recovered 18,060 people affected by COVID-19, while the number of active cases remain at 10,920.
