Helicopter services connecting Dehradun-Tehri-Srinagar-Gauchar was flagged off by Union Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat was also present during the event. The helicopter service comes under the Central Govt’s regional connectivity scheme UDAN.

The helicopter routes will be operated by Pawan Hans Limited. On the occasion, Civil Aviation Minister expressed his gratitude towards the state govt and congratulated the people of Tehri, Dehradun, Srinagar and Gauchar for being able to avail these services.

Chief Minister Rawat said that the new air routes be established under the UDAN scheme were received very favorably  by the residents of the areas which were connected. The helicopter services will be made available for the people three days a week- Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

With the execution of the new services, Dehradun has now been connected with Patnagarh, Pittorgarh, Chinyalisaud and Gauchar. Rawat has also asked the Civil Aviation Minister to start operating air routes that will connect areas of Haldwani, Almora and Dharchula.

UDAN- RCS (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik- Regional Connectivity Scheme), is a regional airport development scheme of the central govt which aims at making air travel affordable, accessible and widespread across the people of country.
