A weekly column on human psychology, youth & leadership with Dr. Debilal Mishra

Generation Z is often concerned with success and failure. When we fail to do something we feel low. This affects our life negatively. In today’s edition of ‘Finding Hope with DLM’, we will be discussing on failures and will try to figure out ways to tackle them.

What is failure according to you?

Failure is just a state of mind, nothing else! It originates in the absence of efforts. As long as we keep trying with no loss of spirit, no failure can ever occur.

Why do people think they’ve failed?
It all depends on how we think. Our thoughts can either make us or break us. In every circumstance we must learn to think great. Every experience in life is meaningful and counts in the long run. We learn from what we do! Not being able to achieve a particular goal can’t be seen as a failure; since we keep learning in the process and can use that experience for even bigger purposes.

What does it take to face the failure?
It takes positivity, passion, patience and perseverance. We must understand as long as we keep loving and believing in ourselves, nothing can ever stop our progress. There can be no failure once you start to feel yourself and when there can be no failure, you don’t have to face any!

Why are people often driven into a state of failure despite being aware of things?
Basically, this happens for two reasons. First, they have some unrelated imagination about success. And second, they focus more on the goal, rather than the efforts it take. We can put in efforts. That’s all we can do. Our efforts may lead to something either we have desired, or we haven’t desired. If we get the desired result we succeed- that’s how we perceive success and failure after all. But this, under no circumstances is a  healthy calculation. We must focus on the sincerity of the efforts which often creates our true identity and character we have never imagined. We must remember that goal is temporary, but glory stays  forever. And for achieving glory we need to focus on efforts without thinking much about the smaller things around.
Our efforts may lead to something either we have desired, or we haven’t desired
How can one be successful in the real sense of the term?

The first thing we need is an unfliching faith in ourselves. Believing is achieving indeed. Our every effort should be replete with our ever growing inner strength. There should be no fear, no doubt, and no confusion. We should be clear to ourselves. Competency results from conviction. Success largely depends on our will to continue even when we can’t! A tremendous will, constant love and perseverance will make it for sure! There must be no comparison with anyone since we all are naturally unique. Success is all about the self-exploration for a larger purpose and in the greater interest of our true growth. Exploration leads to excellence. And the more we  explore, the more we  excel!
