Days before the nationwide lockdown, around 30000 students of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Bhubaneswar were sent back to their homes in their respective villages. As a result, the students had not got their textbooks for this academic year. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS, and a pioneering educator arranged for the study materials and dried food items to be provided at the students’ doorsteps.

On behalf of KISS, Flattened Rice, Sugar, Dal, Biscuits, Soap, Textbooks and allied study materials have been provided to students of all classes of KISS as per the instruction of Dr. Samanta. Today, these materials were sent to all the KISS students in different districts of Odisha by 25 buses. The buses were flagged off in the presence of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder KIIT & KISS, Mr. R. N. Dash, Secretary, KIIT & KISS and Dr. P. K. Routray, CEO, KISS.

The materials will be handed over to the guardians of the students at specific places. The guardians expressed their gratitude to the institute and Dr. Samanta for this initiative of sending study materials and food items to us.

Further, during the lockdown period, KISS Management has been taking measures to provide teaching to all KISS students by means of Digital Technology like Online and Smart-phones.
