Television services, Internet services, OTT (Over The Top) and the list goes on when you think of Mukesh Ambani’s Jio as the service provider. You name it and Jio has it. After Jio Mobile and Jio TV, Jio has come up with Jio Fiber.

This 5th of September will mark the third successful anniversary of Jio services along with the introduction of Jio Fiber. Reliance Industries, CMD, Mukesh Ambani promises to provide high-quality broadband services to the people.

Currently, Jio hits more than 3.4 lakh customers and more than 10 million users are signing into Jio every month, resulting Jio as the most substantial mobile-service providing platform. In the annual meeting, Mukesh Ambani announced that Reliance Jio has invested ₹3.5 lakh crore towards creating a state-of-the-art digital infrastructure across India, with the largest optical fiber footprint.

Jio GigaFiber services will be available from September 5

Jio GigaFiber is basically a high-speed internet service. The basic plan for Jio Fiber services will start at 100 Mbps and will go up to 1 Gbps with the price ranging between Rs 700 to Rs 10,000 per month. The plan will offer free voice calls from home forever and an unlimited international calling pack at Rs 500 per month for fixed-line services.

The Jio Set-Top box is key to the smart home entertainment experience but the prices of the same is yet to be announced. New mixed reality (MR) headsets will be available in the market soon.

In the meantime, Mukesh Ambani introduced the Jio Forever Plans which will include an HD or 4k LED television and 4k set-top box for free. “We are calling this the Jio Fiber Welcome Offer. I invite all of you to make the most of our Welcome Offer, and sign up for Jio Fiber as soon as it is available in your neighbourhood,” he said.

Jio Fiber plan will come with subscriptions to the most premium OTTs. Hence, customers will be able to watch movies on the same day of their release. The service is called Jio First-Day-First-Show and will be launched in the middle of 2020. From digital TV to cloud gaming, the services features a wide range of applications

The company mentioned about Jio Fiber is receiving 15 million registrations for its Fiber home broadband service while it is aiming to reach 20 million residences and 15 million business establishments across 1,600 towns.

Ambani said that Jio has drawn over 340 million users in less than 3 years and is all set to start four new growth engines including Internet of Things (IoT) for the entire country, home, and enterprise broadband services along with broadband for SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises).
