CARE Hospitals, Bhubaneswar announced the launch of a Non-Surgical Weight Loss Procedure Program (ESG) led by Dr. Mohit Bhandari. The facility was inaugurated by Naba Kishore Das, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Odisha recently.

Dr. Bhandari, a renowned doctor and Consultant Obesity & Bariatric Surgery has performed more than 11 thousand Bariatric Surgeries and has operated in more than 70 countries. His association has added immense value to the service delivery system of the Hospital, CARE Hospitals Bhubaneswar sources have said.

Speaking at the occasion Naba Kishore Das, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Odisha said, “Health care sector has developed tremendously. I came to know from Dr. Bhandari that this program is going to benefit many people. Especially the people of the state shall now explore the facility of metabolic surgery or the Non-Surgical Weight Loss whoever requires. Further the diabetic people can also get befits of this facility added by the hospital”.

Addressing the Media at CARE Hospitals, Bhubaneswar while launching of the facility Dr. Mohit Bhandari said,Obesity is a growing problem, making half of the population overweight. Millions are suffering from severe obesity issues.It has become the major cause of premature death. Obesity leads to various ailments like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, sleep apnea, degenerative joint disease and many others.

We are addressing obesity with modern treatment strategies, research and technology upgradation. We are making patients aware about the problem and helping them in getting the best medical solutions. Dr. Bhandari entered the Limca Book of Records in 2015 by performing 25 bariatric surgeries in just 11-hours, with the help of a 40 person team.He is known for his work in laparoscopic and robot-assisted surgery. He was one of the first doctors to perform robotic bariatric surgery in India. He is also the first Indian doctor to perform single anastomosis duodenal-Ileal Switch. Bhandari is the youngest surgeon to perform 8000 plus bariatric surgeries as well as 10,500 plus robotic surgeries.
